100thanniversary of Aliheydar Alekperov.
On 3 February, 2016, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan and the Academic National Drama Theatre organized a memorial evening dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the outstanding director, honored artist of the Azerbaijan Republic, twice State Prize winner Aliheydar Alekperov.
The event, held at the Academic National Drama Theatre, was attended by famous intellectuals, cultural workers and artists. Director of the National Drama Theatre, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, professor Azer Pasha Nematov greeted the guests and shared his memories of Aliheydar Alekperov. Then the artists of the Academic National Drama Theatre performed parts from the performances of Jafar Jabbarly “Almas” and Islam Safarli “The Eye Doctor” directed by Alheydar Alekperov.
The participants listened to the People’s Artist, professor Agakishi Kazimov, People’s Artist, State Prize laureate Haji Ismayilov, student of Aliheydar Alekperov, Honoured Artist of the Republic Ali Nur, and watched videos about the rich creative way of the master. At the end, the family members of the director expressed their gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.
