An event dedicated to Azerbaijan Youth Day
The event, held on the Mustafa Mardanov stage of the Union of Theater Figures of Azerbaijan, was attended by prominent statesmen, intellectuals, youth and media representatives. The event was declared open with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the souls of our heroes who died for the freedom of our lands.
The event was opened by the Chairman of the Union of Theater Figures, People's Artist, State Prize Laureate Haji Ismayilov, who opened the event with an introductory speech and congratulated the youth on February 2 - Youth Day. He emphasized that the event held with the newly established Public Union for Support of the Progress of Art will make a special contribution to the discovery and development of creative and talented youth, and that activities in this direction will be expanded as a result of joint cooperation.
Making a report, the chairman of the Public Union for Support of the Progress of Art Turana Orujova said in her speech that the 1st Youth Forum of the Independent Azerbaijan Republic was held on February 2, 1997, and that date was celebrated as Youth Day in Azerbaijan by the Decree of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani People Heydar Aliyev.
The speaker emphasized that the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Youth Policy, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Youth Policy, the State programs implemented in this area, etc. made a positive contribution to the development of youth in all areas and ensured the formation of today's independent, strong, victorious Azerbaijani youth.
Speakers at the event: Deputies of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Mammadov, Aydin Mirzazade, Chairman of the Sabail District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party Mukhtar Nagiyev and others spoke about the importance of Youth Day and the State programs implemented in the direction of youth development.
At the end, the performance of the "Zafar Yurdu" ensemble was presented.
