Alexandrinsky Theatre of Russia in Baku
The memorandum includes the organization of tours, roundtable discussions, conferences, and master classes. Ilham Asgarov and Sergey Yemelyanov, who signed the memorandum, noted its importance in developing cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Russia and expressed satisfaction with future cooperation.
Following the signing ceremony, Acting Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan, People's Artist, and State Prize laureate Haji Ismayilov awarded Sergey Yemelyanov, director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, the Union's "Artist" medal.
As part of the memorandum, master classes by foreign specialists will be held in our country from February 19-21, 2024, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Alexandrinsky Theatre of Russia (St. Petersburg), the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan, and the Academic National Drama Theatre.
The classes are taught by renowned theater teachers and actors as part of an educational project of the Alexandrinsky Theater School-Studio. The project is supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture and the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States. Its curator is Sergey Yemelyanov, Director of the Alexandrinsky Theater.
The master classes are a three-day, intensive in-person program covering the programs "Fundamentals of Management in Contemporary National Theater" and "Acting in a Contemporary Context." "Fundamentals of Management in Contemporary National Theater" covers management issues, while "Acting in a Contemporary Context" focuses on acting.
The master classes in both areas will be taught by faculty from Saratov State University and the Russian Theatre School of Performing Arts, as well as specialists from the Alexandrinsky Theater.
Thirty-five students will study the theory of the "Fundamentals of Management in Contemporary National Theater" program and will be divided into five to six teams.
