Sona Hajiyeva in Azerbaijan Theatre and Cinema.
25 December, 2017 by the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan and the Academic National Drama Theatre there was held a Memorial Day dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the outstanding actress of theatre and cinema, People’s Artist Sona Hajiyeva.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Union of Theatre Workers, prominent scientists, artists, media representatives and members of the actress family. Participants got acquainted with a photo exhibition dedicated to the life of Sona Hajiyeva.
The event was opened by the chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers, People’s Artist, Professor Azer Pasha Nematov. He told about the rich creative life of Sona and about the characters that she had created for many years in the plays of modern and classical playwrights.
The presenter, People’s Artist, State Prize laureate Haji Ismayilov spoke about the life of Sona khanum and gave the floor to the speakers.
Speakers –People’s Artists Agakishi Kazimov, Rafig Azimov, Associate Professor Rafig Sadigov,Ph.D. , Honoured Artist, cinema expert Aydin Kazimzade, spoke about the genetic talent and abilities of Sona khanum, her ability to work in partnership with prominent actors of her era, about artwork of her mother, Aziza khanum Mamedova, about the various characters she created with great skill.
There were shown at the event the videos and photographs devoted to the work of Sona Hajiyeva, and the soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theatre Taleh Yahyayev performed arias from the operas “Sevil” and “Koroglu”.
Finally, on behalf of the artist’s family, Vagif Ahmadov expressed deep gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event.
