The premiere was held on the Mustafa Mardanov stage
The premiere of the play of the same name, based on the work of the Japanese writer Akutagawa Ryunosuke, "Kesa and Morita", was held.
The play, staged by Mahammad Verdizade, featured young actors Rena Panahova and Mahammad Gulmaliev. The play focuses on love, passion, conscience, selflessness, human inner struggle and moral responsibility.
The play tells the story of the tragic relationship between a married woman named Kesa and the samurai Morita who fell in love with her. Morita, influenced by her love, wants to kill Kesa's husband. Kesa sacrifices herself to prevent bloodshed and protect the honor of her family.
As a result, Morita mistakenly kills Kesa and realizes that her passion has caused a great tragedy.
The play was met with great interest and applause.
At the end, commemorative photos were taken.
