Presentation of the book “Pages of Life”, dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the People’s Artist of the USSR Mehdi Mammadov.
On 28 January, 2019, the Ministry of Culture of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Union of Theatre Workers organized the presentation of the book “Pages of Life”, dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the outstanding director, actor, theatre expert, People’s Artist of the USSR Mehdi Mammadov.
Presenter - People’s Artist, State Prize laureate Haji Ismayilov welcomed the participants of the event, spoke about Mehdi Mammadov, then yielded to the Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers, People’s Artist professor Azer Pasha Nematov. Azer Pasha Nematov spoke about the creative activity of Mehdi Mammadov and shared his memories of him. Then the author of the book, Aida Gafarova, executive secretary of the Union of Theatre Workers, gave information about the books from the series “Pages of life”, spoke about the merits of Mehdi Mammadov and thanked those who contributed to the preparation of the book.
People’s artists Agakishi Kazymov, Ramiz Melik, Rafig Azimov, professor Rafig Sadigov,Ph.D., theatre critic Elmira Aliyeva told about Mehdi Mammadov and many of the positive qualities of his works, highly appreciated the book prepared by the Union of Theatre Workers.
At the end of the event, the Honoured cultural worker, theatre expert Asad Mammadov, speaking on behalf of the relatives of Mehdi Mammadov, expressed deep gratitude to the author of the book, Aida Gafarova, the organizers and participants of the event.
There were shown photos and videos dedicated to the work of Mehdi Mammadov. There were also presented an exhibition dedicated to the master’s works.
