Lutfali Abdullayev - 100.
On 1 April, the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan held a memorial day dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the outstanding comedy master of Azerbaijan, People’s Artist (1960), USSR State Prize laureate (1946), Lutfali Abdullayev.
This mighty actor, more than 40 years of his 59-year-old life, dedicated to the development of musical theatre in Azerbaijan, even when he was live, he was immortalized in the hearts of viewers.
Lutfali Abdullayev was born on 22 March, 1914 in Sheki. Possessing a rare talent, pleasant voice, sharp humor and a special style of play, he quickly became the most popular actor of the theatre and cinema of that time. He created a gallery of unforgettable characters such as Goshun in “Whose Wedding?”, Mohsun in “Five-Ruble Bride”, Dursun and Karim in “Durna”, Gahraman in “Congratulations”, Mahammad in “Ulduz”, Hambaland MashadiIbad in “If Not That , So This One”, Haji Gara in“Haji Gara”, Gulu in“Fifty Years Old Young Man”, Haji Karim in“Journey of Haji Karim to the Moon”, Alanzade in“It Happened”, Keble Heydar in “Married Bachelor”, Veli and Sultan Bey in “Arshin Mal Alan”, Chako in “Keta and Kote”, Hamlet in “Tbilisi Song”, Mitosh in “Hijran” and others.
The audience especially loved Lutfali Abdullayev for his roles in films. They were Veliin “Arshin Mal Alan”, Baloglan in “Not That, So This One”, Mahammad in “Ulduz”, Zulumov in “Where is Ahmed?”, Kefjilov in “Strange History” and other characters he created on the screen and brought him great fame and nationwide love. L.Abdullaev has appeared in a number of short stories in the satirical cinema journal “Mozalan”.
He was a sensitive, friendly, affectionate, kind and caring head of the family.
A prominent actor died on 9 December, 1973 in Baku and was buried in the 2nd Honorary Alley.
